About the Project
We are seeking an experienced Android Developer to work with Public Sector/Government clients. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing Android applications and will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality mobile applications. You will be part of the Product Team and report to the Product Tech Lead. You will demonstrate your capabilities in the following areas:
* Eligible and willing to obtain UK Government Security Clearance (i.e. must have lived in the UK for the last 5 years)
* Strong technical skillset and engineering practice with a minimum 5 years experience of developing Android applications
* Knowledge of Kotlin programming languages
* Experience with Android SDK, Android Studio and Gradle build system
* Experience with RESTful APIs and JSON
* Experience with Git version control system
* Experience with Agile development methodologies
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* A team player with excellent communication and teamwork skills
Desired Skills & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field

Responsibilities but not limited to;
* Design and develop advanced applications for the Android platform
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
* Work with outside data sources and APIs
* Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
* Continuously discover, evaluate and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
* Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to the team
* Participate in code reviews and ensure that the code is of high quality
* Ensure that the applications are secure and follow best practices for data protection
