THIS ROLE IS FIXED TERM FOR 10 MONTHS MATERNITY COVER
The post holder will provide a comprehensive clinical neurophysiology service to patients of all ages from a wide range of specialities who are suffering from wide range of medical disorders including those that may be neurological and /or psychiatric in nature. The post holder will also provide training and development for junior clinical physiologists.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Provides highly complex, specialist clinical neurophysiology service(s) to patients of all ages from a wide range of specialties who are suffering from a wide range of medical disorders including those which may be neurological and/or psychiatric in nature.
Responsible for the organisation of clinical and non-clinical work.
Responsible for the provision, audit, and quality of a specialist area of the clinical neurophysiology service.
Responsible for the development and training of clinical physiologists (Neurophysiology) within the designated specialist area and other health care professionals including nurses, medical students, and doctors.
Undertakes interpretation of results and provision of reports.
Work collaboratively with others on a day-to-day basis to ensure that the service needs are met.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* BSc (Hons) Clinical Physiology (Neurophysiology) or equivalent formal specialist training. (i.e., Other appropriate qualifications e.g., BTEC HNC/D in MPPM /or equivalent experience + professional exam ECNE Part I) plus, knowledge of specialist procedures acquired through specialist/management courses or training/experience to Masters level
* CCP registration
* independently perform and report peripheral nerve studies.
* Neurophysiology specialist course
* An assessing/training qualification
Skills
* Ability to perform a wide range of Neurophysiological investigations and/or to have the highest level of specialist skills and knowledge within the relevant field.
* Ability to interpret specialist Neurophysiological investigation results and patient conditions
* Ability to work autonomously, co-ordinate, plan and prioritise
Experience
* Practical experience and familiarity with the range of basic and advance/complex investigations.
* Supervisory experience
* Experience as an Advanced/Specialist Team Leader Clinical Physiologist (Neurophysiology)
