Job Description
The Operations Manager will manage and facilitate improvements in Health and Safety, Operational Performance, Technical Compliance and Environmental Standards alongside acting as a deputy for the General Manager.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hour week.
Key Duties of Operations Manager:
* Adhere to and promote best practice in accordance with company Health, Safety and Quality regulations.
* Provide a service based on Reliability, Quality and Repeatability, which is both measurable and auditable.
* Liaise with all factory functions to support and resolve operational day to day issues and plan to prevent re-occurrence and deliver a sustainable operation.
* Ensure GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and housekeeping (clean as you go) are strictly adhered to.
* Ensure best practise is developed and used, constantly seeking improvements to layout, efficiency and stock integrity.
* Identify and mentor the FLM's and Key Players of the future. Create strength in depth through the development of the teams. Develop staff through training, mentoring and personal development plans.
* Ensure that all areas comply with internal and external audit requirements.
* Support short and long term projects and provide management cover when needed.
* Monitor and manage performance against KPI's.
* Support other IPS operations within the regional Region as and when required.
* Establish and maintain a working relationship with all customers.
Qualifications
* Experience of managing a Manufacturing/ Co Pack Operation.
* People Management experience - Motivate, support and manage a large team.
* Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
* Experience of working successfully within a FMCG environment.
* Experience of working in a customer-led environment with changing priorities.
* Ability to plan organise and prioritise work to strict deadlines.
* A commitment to respond to changing customer needs.
* Recognises and promotes the importance of continuous improvement.
* Experience of working within a production environment.
* Experience of working with packaging machinery.
* Experience of customer, BRC and AIB and Retailer audits.
* A good working knowledge of MS Office (including email, Word and Excel).
