Overview
Bid Project Co-ordinator role at Slingsby Advanced Composites – based in Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire. Slingsby Advanced Composites produces complex composite structures for ships, submarines and aircraft, ranging from bespoke one-off designs to low-volume manufacture. The company applies ground-breaking technologies to drive the industry forward. A new opportunity exists for a Bid Project Manager/Co-ordinator to join the team. The successful candidate will manage the bid process, ensuring bids are completed on time and to the required specifications.
Purpose of the position: The role will support the Sales and New Product Introduction (NPI) teams in winning new business and handing over successful bids to the NPI teams post contract award. The role will work closely with the Sales team to lead opportunities through bid development, collation and submission to the customer.
Responsibilities
* Acting as the focal point for coordinating bids to support the Sales team to win new contracts
* Coordinating internal activities between departments including sales, engineering, procurement, operations, quality, security, commercial, etc. to comprehensively ensure that all requirements are fully considered
* Developing competitive bid packs comprising cost estimates, schedules, technical proposals, offer letters, etc., in parallel with internal bid process documentation for bid reviews prior to submission
* Working within existing bid processes and maintaining associated registers / KPIs
* Supporting Sales and NPI teams with other pre-contract customer activities such as customer questionnaires
* Upon successful award of the contract, ensuring the bid pack data is transferred to the NPI team to establish budgets, schedules and customer requirements
Tasks
* To ensure structured and consistent coordination of the concept development and bid collation process, primarily from bid/no bid to contract acceptance and handover to the MPI/product development team
* To liaise with Operations and Engineering to populate the Sales & Operational Planning cycle with capacity planning data related to new bids and sales opportunities

* Demonstrable record of working in project management within a technical/engineering/construction environment
* In-depth working knowledge of cost estimating, scheduling, risk management, and product development lifecycles
* Demonstrable record of coordinating multiple activities across internal teams with time-sensitive deadlines
* Capable of interfacing with senior company and customer personnel and all employees
* Significant experience in delivering complex bids relating to R&D and developing highly engineered products
* The ability to work with different teams to coordinate and generate the best possible solutions for bespoke requirements
* Working knowledge of pricing and business documentation
* Strong written, communication and analytical skills
Additional local needs
* On-site based at Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire
* Occasional travel to the Cambridge area engineering office
* Occasional travel to UK-based customer sites
