Job title: Infrastructure Project Manager
Location: Bolton (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £65,000 depending on experience, plus bonus and benefits
A leading European defence and technology organisation is growing its export infrastructure team and is looking for an Infrastructure Project Manager to lead complex design and construction projects overseas. You'll own delivery from early requirements through to handover, working with international customers, design consultants and contractors to create secure, compliant facilities.
In this role the Infrastructure Project Manager sits at the intersection of engineering, construction and operations, turning demanding customer needs and in‑country regulations into buildable solutions. You'll manage project governance, risk and commercial decisions, and be the key point of contact for both internal stakeholders and overseas customers throughout the project lifecycle.
What you'll be doing
Leading export‑focused infrastructure projects from requirements capture through design, construction and handover to agreed Time, Cost and Quality targets as the Infrastructure Project Manager.
Coordinating external design consultants and main contractors, setting up effective WBS/OBS structures and keeping delivery on track.
Translating customer needs, UK regulations and in‑country standards into clear technical requirements and design briefs.
Managing construction contracts (e.g. NEC / FIDIC / JCT), including change control, risk and opportunity, and supporting commercial decisions.
Taking part in technical and project gate reviews between design, construction and acceptance, challenging on safety, compliance and integration where needed.
Ideal candidate
Degree in Engineering or Construction (Structural, Civil or Electrical preferred), with experience delivering complex infrastructure or construction projects.
Proven track record as an Infrastructure Project Manager or similar role, leading multi‑disciplinary projects through the full lifecycle.
Strong knowledge of the RIBA Plan of Work and hands‑on construction contract management (NEC, FIDIC or JCT).
Confident stakeholder manager, able to coordinate consultants, contractors and internal engineering teams and present clear proposals to senior decision‑makers.
Willing to travel internationally on a regular basis to customer sites and key project milestones, and eligible for UK security clearance as a British Citizen or dual UK national.
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be British Citizens or dual UK nationals and be eligible for UK security clearance (BPSS as a minimum).
What's on offer
Competitive salary up to £65,000 depending on experience.
Annual bonus opportunity and a strong pension package.
Hybrid working model with a mix of office, home and international travel.
Comprehensive benefits including enhanced family leave, healthcare and on‑site facilities.
Clear opportunities for progression into senior project or programme management roles within a leading European defence organisation.
