Recruitment Specialist – UK & EMEA | Finance, Treasury, Tax & Regulation | ETRA Talent | Banking, Financial and Professional Services Expert Role: Group Head of Tax

About the Role:
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Group Head of Tax to lead the global tax function at a fast-growing fintech company. This role is critical in ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions, optimising the group’s tax position, and supporting the business with expert tax advice during a period of rapid international expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement the group’s global tax strategy across corporate, indirect, and operational taxes.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations in all jurisdictions where the group operates.
Oversee all tax reporting and filings, including transfer pricing, VAT/GST, corporate income tax, and other relevant obligations.
Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and relevant tax authorities.
Advise on tax implications of business decisions, new product launches, corporate structuring, and M&A activity.
Lead and develop a small in-house tax team and coordinate with finance and legal functions.
Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess the impact on the group’s operations.
Requirements:
Professional tax or accounting qualification (e.g., CTA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
Significant post-qualification experience in a similar in-house tax leadership role, ideally in financial services or fintech sectors.
Strong international tax knowledge, with experience navigating multi-jurisdictional tax issues.
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex tax matters clearly.
Hands-on approach with a willingness to get involved in both strategic and operational work.
