Overview

Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in Tyne and Wear. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support. We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN/SEND, SEMH, and other needs such as MLD and SLD. This role is suitable for qualified SEN/SEND teachers who prefer 1:1 tutoring in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed approach to raise engagement and educational outcomes.

Targeted Provision offers support to vulnerable young people in the UK, with a team around the child and ongoing guidance from SEN/SEND Support Specialists.

What we offer our SEN/SEND Tutors includes flexible hours, remote/online opportunities, extensive CPD including access to Tes CPD, a dedicated SEN/SEND Support Team, tutor community, and a role within a child-centred organisation dedicated to improving support for vulnerable learners.


Responsibilities

* Provide Maths, English, or Science tutoring to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Support learners referred by local authorities and schools with educational and social-emotional needs
* Deliver flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
* Plan each tutoring session to meet individual needs and advance educational and social-emotional development
* Complete lesson reports and provide progress feedback


Requirements

* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience working with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
* Understanding of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (assistance with cost if needed)
* Two professional references
* UK-based with right to work (including remote/online work)
* Commitment to safeguarding and the health, safety, and wellbeing of children and young people


Employment Status

* Engagement as a Worker for short-term engagements as they arise
* Contract for service with PAYE payment
* No guaranteed hours or expenses coverage
* Company insurance covers work undertaken
* Not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
