We are seeking Youth Mentors for our exciting new Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) project. Your role will involve fostering positive relationships with young people, providing guidance, support, and promoting social development.
You will work with disengaged or offending young people, aiming to reduce first-time offending and prevent further criminal behavior. Your responsibilities include mentoring, offering various forms of support, and participating in the programme alongside the young people.
Responsibilities as a Youth Mentor include:
1. Confidently presenting and delivering engaging sessions, building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders such as parents, caregivers, and young people.
2. Establishing trusting relationships through active listening, empathy, and respect.
3. Planning, organizing, and preparing innovative individual action plans and interventions to promote personal growth, leadership, and community involvement.
You will be based in the West Midlands area with the ability to commute easily between service locations.
Qualifications and Experience required:
1. Experience working with offenders or individuals with complex needs.
2. Experience delivering services in one-to-one and group settings.
3. Experience working in a target-driven environment with a proven track record of exceeding targets.
Knowledge of the criminal justice system and legislation related to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act is desirable.
