About the Role
As a Social Worker within the Assessment and Safeguarding Team, you will be responsible for:
* Conducting assessments and providing appropriate interventions to ensure the safety and welfare of children.
* Working collaboratively with families to support positive change and improvement.
* Building effective relationships with children, parents, and other professionals.
* Maintaining accurate and timely records of interventions and progress.
* Attending court hearings and providing evidence when required.
* You will be part of a supportive and dedicated team, working together to achieve the best outcomes for children and families in West Berkshire.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
* Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration.
* Experience working within a children and family services environment.
* Sound knowledge of legislation, regulations, and best practices related to child protection and safeguarding.
* Excellent assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

* You will also be entitled to a generous annual leave entitlement starting at 29 days per annum (plus public holidays) Rising by an additional 5 days after 5 years service.
