You will be part of our Estates and Facilities Department and a key member of the Estates Compliance and Support Team, responsible for ensuring that the Trust has appropriate health and safety, security, and fire safety management policies, processes, and systems in place, and that these are embedded across the organisation.

You'll be responsible for developing effective relationships across directorates as well as external partner organisations (including Fire Authorities, Local Police Authorities, and NHS Protect) and providing technical reports to the Trust Board on your areas of work. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract and can be offered as a secondment opportunity to existing NHS employees.

The main duties of this role include:
* Provide a highly visible leadership role for the management of health and safety throughout the organisation, ensuring the profile is raised to promote health and safety awareness.
* Develop a suite of training and information tools to support all staff in understanding their obligations and responsibilities regarding health and safety, ensuring accessibility and suitability for all staff groups.
* Monitor compliance with health and safety training, providing regular reports to service directors on levels of non-compliance.
* Develop annual action plans related to health and safety management and oversee their implementation within set timescales.
* Produce high-standard reports to inform staff, managers, the Trust, and external organisations of lessons learned and improvements made following health and safety incident reports.
