The Role
As a Project Manager, you will be in a key role within the portfolio, you will be responsible for the delivery of high-value projects to our customers within our Systems Integration and Assurance portfolio. This role is critical to strategic growth of the portfolio whilst ensuring sound delivery practise. You will be working within our Defence Digital Business Stream and will have the opportunity to lead the delivery of highly classified projects, making a tangible difference to national security.
Day-to-day, you’ll be influencing and aligning other people towards the visions of projects whilst both empowering and inspiring other people to achieve success within.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Developing and maintaining positive engagement with project customers, partners, suppliers and stakeholders
2. Delivering project outputs to an agreed baseline such as; customer satisfaction, time, cost, quality, cash and sales
3. The application of governance requirements for the foundation of sales and delivery work including lifecycle, project and independent reviews
4. Business development and being able to identify, qualify, develop and deliver solutions to customers articulating the benefits of QinetiQ solutions
5. Negotiation & conflict management and Human resource management
Essential experience of the Project Manager:
6. Knowledge of MoD project and procurement processes
7. Previous experience managing maritime or defence projects
8. Exposure to capture and bidding in a previous role
Essential qualifications for the Project Manager:
9. APM qualified or another comparable PM qualification
10. The successful candidate must be willing to undergo DV Clearance
This role is 37 hours per week based at PTP, Portsmouth. Hybrid working patterns are available.
