As a key member of the commercial team, you will oversee a spectrum of activities including bidding and negotiating strategically vital business, managing existing contracts, and ensuring delivery.
You'll lead a talented team of commercial officers, spearheading decision-making on all commercial matters and regularly briefing senior leadership and board members during account and bid reviews.
Your primary responsibility will be to cultivate strong relationships with customers and suppliers, serving as the primary point of contact for contract-related matters.
In addition, you will identify and mitigate potential risks associated with contracts, such as financial, legal, and operational risks.
Key accountabilities include:
* Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations with customers and suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions
* Contract Administration: Oversee the administration of contracts throughout their lifecycle, from initial proposal to contract closeout
* Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with contracts
* Customer and Supplier Relations: Cultivate strong relationships with customers and suppliers
A successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent experience, a proven track record of successful contract negotiations and administration, and significant previous experience in a commercial role working in the defense/military sector.
