We’re looking for a flexible working practitioner to join our Bright Flex / Bank team at our Morton Mains nursery.
About Bright Horizons Morton Mains
Bright Horizons Morton Mains is a beautifully refurbished nursery set in a charming stone-built farmhouse surrounded by woodlands on the outskirts of Edinburgh. It offers a peaceful and inspiring setting for children aged 3 months to 5 years, with spacious rooms, engaging learning programmes, and a strong emphasis on outdoor play and nature-based activities. The team is known for its warm, collaborative culture and commitment to supporting each child’s development.
There is free parking and access to a local bus from the nursery making it easy to commute to.

The Role
Working as part of our Bright Flex / Bank team, you can blend the convenience of bank/ agency work, with the security and benefits of being an employee – giving you the best of both worlds!
Within this role, you will support colleagues with their delivery of the Scottish Curriculum frameworks as well as our own curriculum, Bright Beginnings, through engaging children in entertaining and educational activities, encouraging their development towards key milestones. You will also work as part of a larger team to ensure all essential day-to-day tasks are completed, such as room tidying and preparation.
What we’re looking for
8. Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification
9. Previous experience working with children – Nursery Practitioner, Nursery Nurse, Early Years Educator, Nanny, Childminder or similar
10. Passion for making learning fun and engaging for each child
11. Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults
12. Sound understanding of child protection and safeguarding
13. Ability to be flexible and adaptable
