Position Summary
* The laboratory lead medical technologist performs analytical procedures independently and has an advanced understanding of laboratory operations.
* Accountable for day‑to‑day assistance in planning, participating, and overseeing all operations of assigned section(s).
* Is cross‑trained in all functions of the section and provides recommendations to leadership about opportunities for improvement.
* Possesses high attention to detail and can be relied upon for dependable and consistent work output.
* Ensures the reporting of quality results, completion of projects and a safe work environment.
Education
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or related science
Experience
* 5 years of related clinical laboratory experience
* Proven ability to perform and evaluate laboratory procedures, guide QC, improve section performance and lead staff in daily operations in the assigned areas
* Precision and attention to detail
* Strong written communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to read and interpret direction, both oral and written, organize and prioritize work and follow through on assignments
* Knowledge of and ability to use computers, automated instruments and mechanical apparatus
Certification/Licensing
* Clinical Laboratory Technologist License in the area(s) of responsibility from the State of Florida required
* Clinical Laboratory Supervisor License in the area(s) of responsibility from the State of Florida preferred
* Authorization to Work in the United States: Applicants who require sponsorship now or in the future will not be considered for this position.
Salary Range
Minimum 33.70/hour - Maximum 53.93/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
