Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in operating CNC machinery. This role is critical in ensuring the precision and quality of our fabricated components, contributing to the overall success of our production processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Set up, program, and operate CNC machinery for accurate production of components.
* Operate and maintain the edgebander, ensuring high-quality finishes on panels and boards.
* Work closely with the Production Manager to ensure CNC programmes are correct.
* Make small adjustments to CNC programmes as required during production.
* Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD files, and work orders.
* Carry out routine machine checks, basic maintenance, and cleaning.
* Monitor production runs and make necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
* Work to production schedules, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met.
* Identify and resolve issues related to machine performance or product quality.
* Handle raw materials safely, ensuring correct usage and minimising waste.
* Keep accurate records of production and machine activity.
* Maintain a safe and tidy workshop, following all health and safety guidelines.
Skills & Experience
* Experience operating CNC machinery (ideally in a joinery, furniture, or manufacturing setting).
* Experience using an edgebander (preferred, but training can be provided).
* Ability to read and understand technical drawings and CAD files.
* Confidence in making small CNC programme adjustments.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
* Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
* Knowledge of woodworking machinery and workshop practices.
* Reliable, hardworking, and able to work well as part of a team.
* Forklift licence desirable but not essential.
