Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs? Our dedicated SEN school in Chester is seeking a caring, resilient, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team.
About the Role
You’ll be supporting pupils aged 2–19 with a range of complex needs, including physical disabilities, learning difficulties, and autism spectrum conditions. This is a hands-on role that requires compassion, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to inclusive education.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide tailored support to pupils in both classroom and 1:1 settings
2. Assist with personal care routines sensitively and respectfully
3. Support communication and sensory needs using specialist strategies
4. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families
5. Help create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing learning environment
What We’re Looking For
6. Experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferred but not essential)
7. Comfortable with personal care and supporting complex needs
8. A calm, patient, and proactive approach
9. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
10. A willingness to learn and grow within a supportive team
