Offer description

Due to significant company growth, a national contractor requires an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a permanent basis.
The contractor's recent success has resulted in a strong pipeline of exciting, high-value projects and further opportunities and incentives for new and existing staff.


The organisation boasts a wide range of projects and clients across a range of sectors including: Education, Renewables, Healthcare, Retail & Commercial. A great deal of focus is put on developing its employees with the aim of progressing their knowledge, skillset and career. The majority of senior management within the business is a good example of this.

Main responsibilities & duties:



1. Valuation of project works in line with method of measurement, primarily NEC and SSM7

2. Reviewing/validating tender cost plans and takeoffs

3. Liaising with Site Managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors, throughout projects to ensure the best commercial result whilst maintaining relationships

4. Preparing month-end reports for Commercial Manager

5. Tracking cost plans and program delivery

6. Assisting in material procurement and specification compliance

7. Identifying and documenting any changes in design and updating budgets

8. Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders

9. Record productivity, including incentivisation schemes

10. Recognise contractual responsibilities

11. Ensuring your site teams deliver the commercial strategy

Application requirements:



20. Minimum HND in Quantity Surveying, engineering, management, or similar

21. Experience as a mid or senior level QS

22. An understanding of Causeway Estimating Systems is advantageous

23. Sound knowledge of Excel

24. Understanding of Microsoft Project advantageous

25. Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills

26. Ability to organise, plan, and strategize

27. A valid driver's license
