Job Overview
Churchill Special School is seeking a Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) or a Newly Qualified Therapist (NQP).
Salary: Grade 5, SP 16-20 (FTE: £32,596 - £36,362 / Actual: £32,066 - £35,771 per annum)
Contract: Part Time, Permanent (37 hours per week, 45 weeks per year)
Start Date Required: ASAP
Location: Churchill School, Suffolk (bordering Essex and Cambridgeshire, within easy reach of Cambridge City)
Churchill School is an outstanding specialist provision for pupils aged 8-18, with Autistic Spectrum Disorders and/or specific communication and language difficulties. We are looking for a confident and skilled professional with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work in a school which is committed to enhancing language and communication skills throughout the curriculum. You will ideally have some experience working with children with a diagnosis of autism, preferably in an educational setting.
You will
* assess communication and language abilities of pupils on your caseload and offer advice and recommendations to staff and parents
* work collaboratively with teachers to plan, deliver and evaluate language and communication activities across a number of curriculum areas
* be involved in training staff in aspects of language and communication development
* work collaboratively with the Speech and Language Therapist and Speech and Language Therapy Apprentice/Assistant
