We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Site Service Technician at Eastcroft Depot, Nottingham.
About the role
As an electrically skilled technician, you will be part of the Site Services Team working towards site compliance and ensuring continuity of business-critical systems, to allow the delivery of essential services to the rail network.
In this role, you will:
1. Service, maintain, repair, and install plant and equipment
2. Undertake both planned maintenance to a variety of plant and equipment.
3. Engaging in reactive maintenance and fault-finding works upon the electrical equipment upon site.
4. Working on smaller projects and installation works, including testing.
5. Complete other general maintenance tasks as required.
6. Carry out all work to agreed standards, ensuring that all work undertaken is recorded and signed off on the prescribed documentation.
The planned maintenance on the depot will include items such as: Pumping systems, macerators, compressors, powered plant, lifting equipment, PLC control systems and general electrical systems – lighting /power etc.
General repairs can include anything present within the depot environment, such as fencing, walkways, battery charging equipment etc.
About you
You will have practical experience of electrical installation and maintenance within a busy and quality focused environment, being apprentice qualified to NVQ Level 3 standard in a relevant electrically biased discipline (e.g Electrical engineering) or ideally dual-skilled.
You will be an excellent communicator and team player, who thrives working at pace in a collaborative environment.
Our depots operate 24/7, whilst the role is primarily days based due to the nature of the role, a flexible working approach is necessary, as there will occasionally be a requirement for out of hours working, as well as opportunity to perform additional overtime.
In time there will be a requirement to join the call-out roster, for which there will be an additional payment allowance.
You also need to live within 60 minutes’ travelling time of the depot or be prepared to re-locate so that you are if offered the role.
Person Profile/Experience
7. Previous rail depot experience would be an advantage.
8. Good practical knowledge/experience of electrical fault finding.
9. Electrically qualified and competent, able to test.
10. Ability to work calmly under pressure and think quickly/logically.
11. Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
