We’re seeking an experienced and passionate Hourly Paid Lecturer in Games Design to join our Creative Faculty, teaching on the BA (Hons) Computer Games Design programme.


About the Role

You’ll deliver engaging, practice-based teaching across our BA (Hons) Computer Games Design course, which combines creative theory, technical design, and industry production skills.

Your modules may include:

* Player Experience and Interactive Storytelling

Working closely with the Course Director and Subject Lead, you’ll:

* Deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching and assessment across Levels 3–6.
* Develop innovative learning materials that reflect industry standards and emerging technologies.
* Support students through academic and pastoral guidance.
* Maintain active professional and industry links to ensure our curriculum remains future-facing and relevant.
* Contribute to workshops, cross-college projects, and curriculum enhancement.


About You

You’re an inspiring educator, creative practitioner, or industry professional who brings games design to life through real-world insight and collaboration.

* A relevant BA and postgraduate qualification (or equivalent professional experience).
* Experience teaching and assessing in Higher Education.
* Demonstrable expertise in games design or related creative industries.
* Proficiency with industry-standard tools (e.g. Unreal Engine, Unity, or equivalent).
* An inclusive, innovative approach to teaching and learning.
* Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (or working towards it).
* Professional certification in game development tools (Unreal/Unity).
* PhD, research experience, or industry-based innovation.
* Evidence of professional practice, publications, or game development experience.
