Private Client Tax Senior Manager / Director

This firm has established one of the most respected private client practices in Cornwall, serving an enviable portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, landed estates, and local entrepreneurs. They are now looking for a senior leader—at either Senior Manager or Director level—to help drive the strategic direction of the Truro tax team. This is a role for a professional who wants to be a prominent figure in the local market, offering high-level advisory solutions while being backed by a top-tier national resource.
The Role
* Lead the delivery of complex private client tax advisory services, focusing on IHT planning, capital gains tax mitigation, and offshore/onshore trust structures.
* Own and grow a significant portfolio of private clients, acting as a trusted advisor to families across generations.
* Direct the technical quality of the compliance function, providing oversight and mentorship to Managers and Seniors in the Truro office.
* Work closely with the Partners to drive business development, identifying tax planning opportunities and building referral networks with solicitors and land agents.
* Play a key role in the firm’s leadership team, contributing to resource planning, team development, and the overall growth of the South West service line.
About You
* CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified with substantial post-qualification experience in private client tax.
* Currently operating at Senior Manager or Director level within a practice environment.
* Technically excellent across personal tax and trusts, with the ability to navigate complex legislation and provide clear, commercial advice.
* A credible senior presence with the relationship-building skills to manage high-value clients and lead a team.
* Ideally possesses a strong network in Cornwall or the South West, with a passion for the local business community.
