The Role? Due to continued business growth, we are seeking an experienced Commercial & Operations Lead, on a full time, permanent basis. Responsible for supporting all aspects of the company's commercial and operational performance, you will primarily be responsible for ensuring that hire and purchasing activities are efficient and profitable, maintaining stock levels, certification and compliance, alongside the day to day supervision of the operational team. The successful candidate will hold experience within a similar role, hold excellent customer service skills, with good communitive skills at all levels, be self motivated with a good work ethic and the ability to work independently using initiative to propose and implement changes to work practices. You will ideally also have previous experience working with ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001. This list does not represent an exhaustive list but indicates the main responsibilities the post holder will be required to undertake: Act as the first point of contact for new and existing customer enquiries, relating to the rental and sale of company products and services, supporting the Business Performance Director in developing existing accounts, whilst taking ownership of client relationships and identifying new business opportunities. Responsible for creating quotations, quote chasing and issuing whilst maintaining customer service levels in accordance with company procedures. Maintain a thorough understanding of sales and hire activities, ensuring revenue and utilisation targets are achieved. Responsible for the maintenance of accurate stock records, tracking incoming and outgoing equipment, in accordance with company procedures. Responsible for sourcing and purchasing equipment, and materials in accordance with company procedures. Act as the primary point of contact for suppliers, overseeing performance, resolving issues, and ensuring service levels are met. Monitor daily operations, including order fulfilment, despatch and off hire processes, to support day to day operations as necessary. Responsible for liaising with operational departments to ensure that client requirements and delivery dates are met. Responsible for ensuring all hire and sales equipment is maintained and certified in accordance with company procedures and regulatory standards where appropriate. Assist to develop and manage sales, demand and inventory forecasts as required. Assist to support the annual budget process and contribute to growth plans as necessary. Responsible for maintaining equipment certification, arranging recertification in accordance with company procedures. Assist to compile weekly and monthly reporting as required. Produce client reports periodically as required. Provide guidance and support to operational teams as necessary. Ensure departmental employees work within their competency level and support their development. Provide adequate training, information, instruction, and supervision to ensure work is conducted correctly to company standards. Take a proactive approach preventing, identifying, and resolving quality issues. Focal point for operations, escalating to the Business Performance Director as necessary. Assist to evaluate and assess employee performance in accordance with company procedures and policies. Monitor annual leave requests to ensure adequate cover remains within the department at all times. Report employee absences to the Human Resources department and ensure company processes are followed upon their return. Take a proactive approach to constantly review internal processes and propose system improvements to ensure the department continually meets client and company expectations. Develop effective working relationships with staff and stakeholders. Assist with other duties as necessary.
