Location: Bristol – Hybrid
As a Principal Naval Architect, you will work on naval platforms throughout all stages of the product life cycle, from early design to build support and commissioning.
The Naval Architecture Department includes teams specializing in weights engineering, stability and hydrostatics, infrastructure support, seamanship and outfit, manoeuvring and control, fluid dynamics, design, and development.
Key responsibilities:
* Designing advanced submarines.
* Applying expertise in hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, seamanship, outfit, infrastructure, or whole-boat design to support major UK shipbuilding programs.
* Supporting sea trials, inclining experiments, and commissioning activities across various vessel classes.
* Conducting R&D to develop leading capabilities.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Naval Architect.
* Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
* Eligibility for UK SC Clearance.
* Degree in Naval Architecture.
* Experience in ship design analysis and support during construction.
* Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
* Previous experience with defence projects.
