Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30 (37.5 hours per week)
This is a permanent full-time role for a skilled and motivated CAD and Additive Manufacturing Engineer to join a team in Gloucester.
The Role
Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are seeking a candidate to work at the forefront of 3D printing and product development, supporting a wide range of industries with innovative manufacturing solutions.
As part of the CAD department, you will be responsible for preparing and modifying customer CAD files, assessing their suitability for additive manufacturing, and operating a variety of AM technologies.
Key Responsibilities
* Review CAD files for suitability with SLA, DLP, MSLA, and FDM processes, providing accurate build time estimates.
* Modify and repair CAD models for manufacture using tools such as Materialise Magics, Autodesk Powershape, or PTC Creo.
* Prepare CAD files for AM through orientation, support creation, and slicing.
* Create fibre strategies for FDM processes to ensure part strength and durability.
* Operate, monitor, and unload multiple AM machines, performing minor maintenance and calibration.
* Post-process parts, including support removal, washing, and curing.
* Provide CAD support for the polyurethane department by preparing tooling inserts and SLA masters.
* Create 2D DXF/DWG files from 3D models for additional applications.
* Participate in a weekend rota to support AM machine operations.
About You
* ND or Degree in CAD/CAM, Industrial Design, or Engineering.
* Experience with parametric and/or surface CAD modelling.
* Strong interest in 3D printing and additive manufacturing technologies.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong time management and attention to detail.
Desirable Experience
* Hands-on experience with additive manufacturing and 3D printing.
* Knowledge of software such as Materialise Magics, Autodesk Powershape, PTC Creo, or 3D printing slicer tools (e.g., Cura, PrusaSlicer, Lychee)
