The Role
* Leading and managing the Science department across KS3, KS4, and KS5
* Driving high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment across all disciplines
* Developing an ambitious and coherent Science curriculum
* Monitoring pupil progress and implementing targeted improvement strategies
* Line managing and developing teaching staff within the department
* Overseeing practical provision, laboratory standards, and compliance
* Managing departmental budgets and resource allocation
* Contributing to whole-school improvement planning and senior leadership initiatives
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* A degree in a Science subject
* Proven experience teaching Science at secondary level, including KS5
* Previous leadership experience within a Science department
* A strong track record of raising attainment and improving outcomes
* Excellent organisational and strategic leadership skills
* The ability to inspire staff and pupils in a high-expectations environment
