An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Visual Art to join a fantastic secondary school in Bury St Edmunds. This full-time maternity cover role is set to begin in October 2025, offering you the chance to become a part of a vibrant and creative department.

1. Is passionate about Visual Art and can inspire students to develop their creativity and confidence.
2. Is committed to comprehensive education and dedicated to improving outcomes for all learners.
3. Can work collaboratively with colleagues and make a positive contribution to the school’s ethos and values.
4. Has a specialism in photography – this would be a significant advantage, though not essential.
Responsibilities:
5. Deliver engaging and high-quality Visual Art lessons across KS3 and KS4.
6. Encourage students to express themselves creatively while developing technical art skills.
7. Plan, prepare and assess student work in line with curriculum expectations.
8. Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners.
9. Support enrichment opportunities such as exhibitions, trips, or after-school clubs.
Requirements:
10. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) desirable but not essential.
11. Proven experience or strong subject knowledge in Visual Art.
12. Ability to teach across KS3 and KS4 (experience with GCSE Art is desirable).
13. Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
14. A specialism in photography would be advantageous.
