Job overview
We are pleased to offer an internal development opportunity for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to step into a Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse role on Fettle Ward for a 6‑month secondment/fixed term contract. This is an excellent chance for someone who is ready to develop their clinical leadership skills within a supportive inpatient mental health environment.
Fettle Ward provides a therapeutic, recovery‑focused setting where staff work collaboratively to deliver holistic, evidence‑based care. The team operates within a strong multi‑disciplinary framework, working closely with carers, community teams, and partner agencies to ensure safe, effective treatment and timely discharge planning.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be required to take a leadership role on the ward, deputising for the ward manager when required, oversee the day to day running of the ward and be responsible for providing high quality clinical leadership to the in-patient multi-disciplinary team through supervision and direction.
The appointee will be required to work rotational shifts including weekends and bank holidays as necessary, with a flexible manner to ensure a seamless whole service approach.
Safe and effective delivery of care will be expected alongside compliance with The Nursing and Midwifery Councils Code of Professional Conduct.

* Post Graduate degree or equivalent experience
