Surveyor / Senior Surveyor
Global Occupier Services – Glasgow or Edinburgh offices
Cushman & Wakefield is a global leader in commercial real‑estate services, supporting over 52,000 employees across more than 60 countries. We invite an enthusiastic Surveyor or Senior Surveyor to join our Occupier Services team, working on one of our most prestigious client accounts.
The role requires daily collaboration with the Global Occupier Services team and partners across the Cushman & Wakefield business to provide professional Property Management services. You will be based at our Glasgow or Edinburgh offices with regular client‑site visits.
Core Responsibilities
* Serve as the focal point for all property‑related queries for a portfolio of properties and take ownership of all matters to ensure effective operation of allocated sites.
* Liaise with clients and third parties (landlords, agents, solicitors) to ensure uninterrupted use of the client’s premises and act as the intermediary between landlord and tenant.
* Identify and drive cost savings for corporate occupiers.
* For sublet properties, monitor income collection and tenant liaison.
* Manage exit strategies for freehold and leasehold properties vacated, supporting the vacant process and inspecting to certificate premises vacated.
* Ensure adherence to lease terms, statutory requirements, and advise clients accordingly.
* Contribute to budgeting for the client to ensure services are delivered within budget.
* Manage and liaise with other Cushman & Wakefield teams and external professionals to provide a full service to the client.
* Direct and frequent client contact and reporting.
* Contribute to the achievement of client and departmental targets.
* Deliver regular and accurate client reports.
* Conduct inspections of third‑party let portfolio, travelling to sites as required.
Knowledge & Experience
* General practice background for corporate, public sector, or private practice.
* Experience working in a large practice and/or corporate environment.
* Broad surveying skills, not restricted to a narrow practice area.
* Understanding of the interaction between Property and other business functions within a Corporate Occupier.
* Knowledge of business development and client relationship management.
* Experience in networking and building relationships internally and externally.
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of legislation regarding Property Management.
* Strong understanding of Service Charge, including RICS guidance.
* Strong IT skills (Excel, Outlook, Word).
* Experience applying A.I. in a property context to provide insights and improve efficiencies.
* Line‑management experience advantageous.
* Experience liaising with Facilities Management, Transaction Management, and Finance/Accounting teams.
Qualifications
* Degree‑level estate management qualification or equivalent desired.
* Membership of RICS desired; candidates on the path to RICS qualification will be considered.
* Full driving licence.
