Overview
We are looking for keen, ambitious, creative Commis and CDP level chefs to join our exciting artisan deli and food emporium located in the heart of the historic market town of Henley-on-Thames. Starting date as soon as possible.
The ideal candidates must have a passion for using local, seasonal ingredients and have a great eye for detail; all produce will be cooked from scratch in house daily. From the deli, rotisserie and food store, there will be take-out and take-home options. Freshness, presentation and quality are key.
Throughout the store the team will be integrated, working as one to ensure that customer service and experience is of the highest standard. The kitchen team will be very much part of the deli and the kitchen is on view to shoppers and customers. A friendly, open disposition and strong communication skills are required.
Although not a restaurant with the usual service and plating etc. the standards are at the same level and there will be very busy trading periods.
Responsibilities & Duties:
· Preparing a wide variety of dishes following traditional and modern recipes with seasonality at the forefront
· Working openly with management in the creation of new dishes and menus
· Actively communicating with fellow team members
· Working at pace and efficiently multi-tasking when needed
· Effectively managing stock-control and budgets according to company guidelines
· Keeping stations stocked, well-organised and tidy at all times
· Supervising food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and standards
· Adhering to company standards and following Food Safety and Health & Safety legislation.
Salary based on experience.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Chef experience
· A keen eye for detail and standards
· Understanding and knowledge of ingredients and seasonality
· Openness to share your professional knowledge and experience with your colleagues
· Allergen and nutrition awareness
· Food Safety Level 2 Qualification preferred
· Ability to remain calm under pressure
