Purchase Ledger Administrator (25 hrs/week)–£16,250-£18,000 DOE– Chesterfield Do you have proven experience working within a busy purchase ledger? Are you confident handling invoices, resolving queries and ensuring accuracy across financial records? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are a successful housing development company who place emphasis on quality and sustainability, looking to appoint an experienced Purchase Ledger Administrator to our growing team. This role will enable you to build real expertise in VAT and the Construction Industry Scheme. You will handle invoice processing, supplier management and compliance, giving you a solid foundation in finance operations. Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will gain insight into the wider finance function, while developing your analytical and communication skills. Key tasks Responsibility for the day-to-day processing of purchase invoices, ensuring they are checked, prices are correct, and any discrepancies are investigated and dealt with appropriately. Ensure that invoices are authorised for payment by relevant Managers and matched to purchase orders. Ensure that invoices are entered onto the accounting system accurately Deal with all enquiries related to invoices/payments, answering telephone calls and emails, and liaising with relevant teams as necessary to ensure enquires are dealt with in a professional and timely manner. Create new supplier accounts and amend existing accounts as required Reconcile supplier statements each month Ensure compliance with all relevant regulation and legislation, including VAT and Construction Industry Standards. The Person Experience of working in a busy purchase ledger in a hands-on environment. Strong IT and computer skills (especially excel) Excellent communication skills and great team player A positive ‘can do' approach with willingness to take personal accountability Accuracy and ability to provide consistent attention to detail Experience of Sage 50 and Construction Industry Scheme desirable
