About Kingdom Group

The Kingdom Group is an award-winning, people-powered organisation delivering specialist services across security, cleaning, recruitment and training. With £300m+ in revenue, 11,500+ colleagues, and operations across 5,000+ sites, we combine national scale with a genuinely personal approach.

Kingdom Academy sits at the heart of our people strategy — developing skills, careers and futures for our colleagues, customers and communities. Our construction training provision plays a vital role in supporting Scotland's workforce through Modern Apprenticeships, CITB programmes and industry-recognised qualifications, working closely with employers, awarding bodies and government partners.

We put people first, always — and we're building a united group where care, quality and performance go hand in hand.

The Role

We're looking for a Director of Service to lead Kingdom Academy's construction training operations across Scotland.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role with full accountability for operational delivery, quality, learner outcomes, colleague performance and commercial results. You'll ensure our provision is best-in-class, fully compliant with Education Scotland and funding requirements, and aligned to the needs of industry today and tomorrow.

You'll be the senior face of Kingdom Academy in Scotland, building strong relationships with employers, external partners, awarding bodies and government stakeholders — while developing a high-performing, engaged team that delivers outstanding results for learners and customers.

Key Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day operational performance of Kingdom Academy's construction training provision in Scotland
Act as the senior service leader with external partners, funders, subcontractors and awarding bodies
Drive learner achievement, quality improvement and inspection readiness
Lead delivery of Modern Apprenticeship and CITB programmes
Recruit, retain and develop a high-performing, values-led team
Manage contracts to ensure profitable, sustainable growth and operational efficiency
Oversee curriculum development, ensuring relevance to industry and future skills needs
Use data and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and informed decision-making
Play a key role in the Kingdom Academy senior leadership team
Support business development, sales and marketing activity
Champion one culture across Kingdom Academy and the wider Group

What We're Looking For

Essential

Minimum 3 years' senior leadership experience within a Scottish construction training organisation
Proven leadership of Modern Apprenticeship and CITB-funded programmes
Strong track record in operational delivery, quality, cost control and growth
Experience managing external contracts and stakeholder relationships
Confident, credible leader able to influence at senior and director level
Commercial mindset with a strong focus on results and data-driven decision making
Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK

Desirable

Experience working with Education Scotland inspections and governance
Curriculum development experience
Relevant professional or leadership qualifications

Skills & Attributes

Strong people leader — able to build, motivate and retain high-performing teams
Clear, confident communicator and presenter
Organised, proactive and detail-focused
Comfortable challenging the status quo and driving change
Passionate about developing people, improving outcomes and delivering service with care
Aligned to Kingdom's CARE values

Why Join Kingdom Academy?

A senior leadership role with real influence and autonomy
Opportunity to shape the future of construction training in Scotland
Work for a values-led organisation that genuinely puts people first
Be part of a growing, ambitious group with national reach and local impact
Competitive package and support to succeed
