The laboratory at Pinderfields Hospital serves as the hub for the Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust, analysing inpatient, outpatient and emergency department patient samples alongside the GP patient samples from the local area.

The instruments currently in use across the trust consist of Roche chemistry and immunoassay modules, Tosoh G11 HPLC instruments, BIO-UV Spectrophotometer, Helena V8 Capillary Electrophoresis and an Advanced Instruments Osmometer. These are used in conjunction with the GLP automated track system to process blood, CSF, faecal, fluid, sweat and urine samples for over 100 tests.
