Overview
Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs are required in Tyne and Wear. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support. Targeted Provision is on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN / SEND, SEMH, MLD, and SLD. Tutors will work 1:1 with children and young people in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner to raise engagement and improve educational outcomes.
We offer a supportive team approach, with SEN / SEND Support Specialists guiding each placement.
This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who are eager to work via 1:1 tutoring with a variety of learning needs.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role
* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs
* Young people are referred by local authorities and schools and may require support in educational and social-emotional development
* Deliver flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities
* Plan each tutoring/mentoring session
* Provide holistic, engaging sessions that meet needs and support progress
* Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress
SEN / SEND Tutor requirements
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS/QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other needs
* Understanding of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (assist with obtaining at cost if needed)
* Two professional references
* UK-based and eligible to work in the UK, including for remote assignments

SEN / SEND Tutor Employment Status
* Engage with us as a Worker for short-term engagements as they arise
* Contract for service with PAYE payment
* No guaranteed hours or expenses coverage
* Insurance covers the work
* Not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
