Job Description:
An award-winning enterprise software scale-up with high ambitions for growth is looking for a Data Engineer to join the team. They recently won the ScotlandIS Digital Tech Scale-up Business of the Year award and have been recognized as Scotland’s fastest-growing tech company in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 for three consecutive years.
Responsibilities:
1. Implement, test, and deploy Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipeline definitions within version control to customer environments.
2. Collaborate with the Site Reliability Engineering team to ensure solutions are observable, reliable, and performant.
3. Work with software implementation consultants (SICs) to define and verify specification documents for ETL processes.
4. Coordinate with customer IT to test data source endpoints for compliance with specifications.
5. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure end-to-end data capability.
6. Support system cutover to production, possibly outside normal hours.
7. Identify and implement improvements to Azure Data Factory processes for better maintainability across customers.
About you:
1. At least two years of experience with Azure Data Factory, building transparent and supportable pipelines.
2. Experience with data integrations involving external systems.
3. Good understanding of the ETL process.
4. Excellent communication skills for explaining technical matters.
5. Confidence working with complex referential data.
6. Knowledge of REST APIs, SQL databases, and other data sources.
7. Team player with collaborative experience across departments.
8. Attention to detail and ability to simplify complex problems.
