An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a secondment within Hospital Out of Hours (HOOH) at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, for a qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Band 7/8a depending on experience.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop and expand clinical experience, skills and knowledge across the entire spectrum of Hospital Out of Hours, with a focus on reviewing deteriorating patients.
Main duties of the job
The role provides assessment and management of patients from a variety of specialities outside of normal working hours. Working within the HOOH Team alongside resident Drs, Trainee ACPs, Co-ordinators, and clinical support workers, to provide safe and effective clinical care.
The successful candidate should have a friendly, compassionate and sensitive manner with a genuine desire and passion to help people. As this is a challenging role you must have the ability to demonstrate patience and empathy, with a good range of clinical skills, inspiring confidence and trust to all patients.

This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of a maximum of twelve months due to maternity leave of the substantive post holder. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts and statutory maternity provisions.
Please note all existing NHS staff will only be considered on a secondment basis. This must first be agreed with your current line manager.
Please also note this vacancy is banded dependent upon applicants experience relevant to this post. The banding of the successful applicant/s will start at Band 7 unless applicants meet the necessary threshold of skills and experience required to start on Band 8a.

Education and Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. (Band 7/8a) Registered Health Professional with appropriate valid registration
2. (Band 7/8a) 1st Degree or equivalent experience
3. (Band 7/8a) MSc in Advanced Practice (or equivalent qualification) (or due to complete in the next 6 months)
4. (Band 7/8a) Non-Medical Prescriber
Desirable criteria
5. (Band 7/8a) Evidence of further education
6. (Band 7/8a) Teaching qualification
7. (Band 7/8a) Advanced Communications Course
Experience
Essential criteria
8. (Band 7/8a) Significant relevant experience as qualified ACP
