Salary & Benefits
Salary: £53,195 per annum, plus night shift allowance, 22.5 days annual leave with bank holidays and a defined contribution pension scheme. A weekend supplement for Saturday (£53.14 per attendance) and Sunday (£106.28 per attendance) shifts is applicable.
Contract & Hours
Contract: Permanent – Full time. Hours: Shift attendance equates to 37.00 hours per week.
Shift Pattern
The role follows an 8‑week rotation covering early, late and night shifts. Shift times are a guide and may vary slightly.
* Early shifts: 06:30‑14:40 Mon‑Fri, 06:30‑19:10 Sat, 08:00‑20:15 Sun
* Late shifts: 14:30‑22:40 Mon‑Fri
* Night shifts: 22:30‑06:40 Mon‑Fri, 19:00‑06:15 Sat, 20:00‑06:15 Sun
Role Responsibilities
* Keep our automation assets performing at their best through preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
* Drive continuous improvement projects from concept to implementation.
* Collaborate with the Engineering Manager and team leaders, completing reports and logging faults.
* Diagnose and resolve automation breakdowns quickly to keep operations flowing.
* Monitor performance and work with stakeholders to boost output.
* Take ownership of continuous improvement projects — from concept to implementation — focused on enhancing machinery performance in our Hub/Mail Centre.
Qualifications
* Qualified in electrical and mechanical engineering (minimum ONC Electrical Engineering / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
* Experienced in maintaining automation equipment; ideally with PLC knowledge.
* Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
* A proactive team player who can also work independently.
* Full manual UK driving licence (for occasional travel to other sites).
