Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon – Liverpool
We’re an independent small animal practice in Liverpool looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a small, grounded team. This role is about safe, sustainable clinical work — not squeezing diaries or ticking corporate boxes.
The role
We need 9am–6pm clinical cover across the week. How that’s achieved is flexible. We’re open to:
* A 9-day fortnight
* Or a straightforward 5-day week
The priority is consistent cover, not burning someone out.
What day-to-day actually looks like
* 15-minute consults as standard
* Capped diary with no routine overbooking
* Proper nurse support in consults and theatre
* Routine small animal medicine and surgery
* Time to work cases up properly and practise medicine you’re comfortable with
* No out-of-hours, no on-call, and no pressure to “just fit one more in”

* Clinical autonomy — no corporate KPIs or sales targets
* Management handles complaints and pricing conversations

* Open, honest conversations if something isn’t safe or workable
Who this suits
* A vet with a couple of years’ experience or more
* Someone who values predictability and proper clinical support
* Happy working in a small, independent environment
* Comfortable with routine surgery and general practice
