The James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (JPUH) is inviting applications for a Consultant in Dermatology to join a dedicated and forward‑thinking team. The post offers the opportunity to contribute to an expanding service in a supportive environment.
Working Arrangement
Applicants are welcome to apply for full‑time or part‑time positions. Supporting leadership experience will be considered for the Clinical Lead role.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide a Dermatology service in conjunction with consultant colleagues, covering 1.0 WTE with 10 PA's, Monday to Friday.
* Achieve skin cancer waiting‑time targets and the 18‑week referral‑to‑treatment time targets, and other relevant service targets.
* Develop and advance personal special interests and engage in research activities.
* Supervise nurse‑led clinics in the department, including acne, leg ulcer, cryotherapy, photodynamic therapy, day treatment and surgery lists.
* Attend departmental and clinical meetings: monthly Monday lunchtime departmental and consultant meeting, monthly Clinical Governance meeting, weekly Skin MDT meeting, and fortnightly Wednesday afternoon educational joint clinics for complex cases.
* Implement community‑hospital and outreach clinic duties as part of the appointment to the Trust.
* Coordinate care for dermatology patients requiring hospital admission, ensuring stabilization on the general medical ward and referral to the dermatology team for review.
