NEW OPPORTUNITY! MUST READ! QUANTITY SURVEYOR!
I am assisting my client in the search for a Quantity Surveyor to join their construction team in the Southeast. As the Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for supporting the Commercial team on a variety of projects from Education to Commercial, Healthcare, Leisure and Public Sector.
The Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the projects are delivered within budget and to the highest quality, exceeding customer expectations.
2. Work closely with the project team and senior commercial staff to ensure budgeted targets are met.
3. Establish strong working relationships with supply chain, consultants, and customers.
4. Assist in accurately valuing, certifying and issuing payment notices for supply chain partners in accordance with contract arrangement.
5. Ensure external valuations are submitted in accordance with conditions of the main contract and that payments are received by the due date.
6. Complete cost value comparison reports that accurately reflect the current position on site and the final projection.
7. Identify any potential disputes in a timely manner and enable introduction of effective solutions.
To be considered:
8. HNC / HND in Surveying or equivalent.
9. Proven experience as the QS with a main contractor.
10. Strong mathematical and IT ability.
11. Negotiating and networking skills.
12. Excellent communications skills.
13. Good team working skills.
14. Experience with both JCT and NEC forms of contract.
15. Experience on healthcare and education schemes between £10m and £50m.
