Overview

8c Consultant Clinical Psychologist/ Neuropsychologist — 1WTE Substantive. We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist / Neuropsychologist with an interest in functional neurological conditions to join a large Neuropsychology department at Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

We are looking for someone to lead the provision of Clinical Psychology/Neuropsychology services within a multidisciplinary team including Neuropsychiatry, Neurology, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. We welcome applications from clinicians at consultant level as well as from those who are developing towards consultant level and can demonstrate willingness to develop the relevant skills and competencies for this post. The post holder will also join a large, friendly, supportive and welcoming Neuropsychology department comprised of 13 Clinical Neuropsychologists/Psychologists and 9 Assistant Psychologists in 5 services (General Outpatients, Neurosurgery, Cognitive Disorders, Stroke and Community Traumatic Brain Injury).

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities: The post-holder will deliver assessment, consultation and psychological intervention for people with a diagnosis of Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). The post-holder will take a lead role in developing the outpatient and inpatient service, alongside the service manager, consultants, specialist nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists in evidence-based service development, implementation of service outcome measures, use of data to demonstrate service impact, service user involvement, quality improvement projects and research involvement. As a senior member of the team, the post-holder will be expected to contribute to the supervision of more junior staff, along with the wider multidisciplinary team. They will also support colleagues from across the south-west, and nationally through professional networks and teaching opportunities. The team is actively involved in clinical research. Essential criteria

* Training in clinical psychology to doctoral standard (or its equivalent for those trained before 1996), as accredited by the British Psychological Society.
* HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist

Work Experience

Essential criteria

* Experience of working with patients who have a diagnosis of a functional neurological disorder
* Significant supervised clinical practice including clinical neuropsychological assessment/rehabilitation of adults.
