The North East regional branch of ADASS is looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to work in partnership with local authorities, care providers and other relevant agencies across the region to promote the improvement of adult social care. We are looking for someone who has specialist knowledge about adult social care workforce issues, and experience of working on a national or regional level. This post is Temporary until 31st March 2028. WHAT IS INVOLVED? North East ADASS leads the regional sector led improvement programme on behalf of the 13 local authorities across the North East and North Cumbria. Through the networks, and in partnership with other organisations, we aim to develop a series of projects / initiatives to support improvement within the region. In this role you will work with a range of partners and stakeholders including ADASS members (local authority Directors of Adult Social Services and their staff), senior managers from local authorities and the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board, lead members, strategic regional and national partners such as the Local Government Association and NHSE/I; providers of adult social care services; and people who use services. The primary partnership will be with workforce leads within local authorities, providers of adult social care, and we particularly welcome applications from those with experience of working with providers in the region. You will need to have experience of working in adult social care at a senior level with specific knowledge of workforce issues and experience of working with commissioners and providers of adult social care. You should be able to demonstrate experience of working with providers and commissioners in politically sensitive areas of work, and being able to make astute decisions independently. You will be able to represent North East ADASS with partners such as the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board, Skills for Care, UKVI, Department for Health and Social Care etc. Please refer to the attached Person Specification for the full criteria.
