Job description
We are seeking a proactive, dedicated and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Finance Assistant, playing a key role in the financial administration of the company. You will be responsible for day to day financial processing, as well as undertaking general financial administration tasks under the guidance of the Finance Manager.

The role is on-site at the SQEP offices at the Bristol and Bath Science Park, with flexibility to work up to two days per week from home. The role is a full-time position, however we would be open to apart-time arrangement for the right applicant.
Responsibilities
· Check, process and record all payments, administer invoices and expenses claims received
· Reconcile transactions on computer and bank statements and ensure that all accounts balance
· Liaise with and review budgets and expenditure as necessary and prepare monthly reports and other data as required
· Maintain proper records for all the above on SAGE and file all relevant paperwork
· Remain up-to-date and compliant with all organisational procedures policies and professional codes of conduct and uphold standards of best practice
· Think creatively and show initiative
Nice-to-Have
· AAT Qualified or equivalent
· Previous experience in a financial role
· High proficiency in working with SAGE (ideally SAGE 50)
Personal Attributes
· Excellent presentation and communication skills
· Ability to work as part of a team, as well as on own initiative
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Confidence in liaising with external organisations
· Ability to use databases, including spreadsheets
· High proficiency in working with SAGE
· Accuracy in reporting detailed financial information
· Proficiency in working with Microsoft packages, including Outlook, Word and Excel
· Ability to work under pressure, plan and prioritise own workload, manage competing tasks and meet deadlines
Experience
· Minimum 5 years' experience.
· Highly proficient with accounts payable processes and systems.
· Proficiency in working with Microsoft packages, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
· Strong knowledge of financial accounting practices.
· Experience of working with SAGE is desirable but not essential.
A DBS and Security Clearance check will be required for this role.
