Labour Manager

Role Purpose
As a Labour Manager, you will play a key role in managing labour operations, acting as a vital link between clients, recruitment teams, and site workers. You will oversee workforce planning, recruitment coordination, compliance, and client relationship management across assigned projects or sites. Your role will ensure seamless labour operations and strong site engagement to meet the needs of both clients and workers effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Workforce Management:
Oversee incoming and existing labour across designated projects/sit
Engage with site supervisors, foremen, and works managers to ensure smooth workforce deployment.
Act as the primary liaison between recruitment teams and clients to fulfill resourcing needs
* SIte & Employee Engagement:
* Maintain regular engagement with workers on-site, ensuring well-being and performance
* Address day-to-day queries from both clients and workers, proactively resolving challenges.
* Conduct toolbox talks and health & safety briefings as required.Recruitment & Onboarding:
* Support the recruitment team in identifying, screening, and selecting qualified candidates.
* Ensure new starters have completed required site inductions and compliance processes.
* Verify right-to-work documentation and PPE compliance for all new hires.
* Compliance & Administration:
* Oversee reference checks and ensure applicant suitability before client submission.
* Manage site training matrix updates and coordinate workforce holiday schedules.
* Communicate leavers and internal site transfers to the Regional Support Partner.
* Client & Stakeholder Management:
* Maintain regular contact with clients, providing recruitment updates and workforce planning insights.
* Deliver weekly reports on site engagement, labour performance, and key workforce metrics.
* Ensure all DSG processes align with health, safety, and compliance requirements.
Key Skills & Experience
* Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
* Proven experience in the civil engineering or construction industry.
* Strong administrative and organisational skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to multi-task and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Reporting & Performance Metrics
* Project-related documentation and workforce reports.
* Weekly diary reports and labour allocation updates.
* Site engagement and compliance reports.
* Key client labour meetings and workforce planning reviews.
