An established and growing UK manufacturer of bespoke timber doors and specialist timber products is looking for a Sales Office Manager to lead its Northern Commercial Team based in Birmingham.
With strong and consistent growth, the business is entering an exciting phase of development. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in strengthening the commercial function, improving quoting processes, and supporting continued business expansion.
The successful candidate will lead the regional estimating and order coordination team, ensuring accurate, timely and commercially robust quotations across the company's core product range. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on delivering operational excellence, protecting margin, and ensuring a smooth transition from accepted quote to confirmed order.
The Role
As Sales Office Manager, you will oversee enquiry management, quotation delivery and order coordination across the Midlands and Northern regions. You will work closely with external sales teams to prioritise opportunities and ensure the best outcomes for both customers and the business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and develop the regional estimating and order coordination team, creating clear structure, standards and accountability
2. Manage enquiry prioritisation, allocating resources and making escalation decisions across commercial, technical and capacity constraints
3. Introduce and manage service levels for enquiry handling, monitoring performance and improving response times
4. Oversee tenders and quotations to ensure accuracy, competitiveness, compliance and margin protection
5. Manage the regional order coordination process, ensuring smooth order handovers and resolution of discrepancies
6. Identify and reduce errors or rework through data-led root cause analysis and continuous process improvement
7. Support the team during busy periods by preparing estimates and quotations when required
8. Maintain effective use of CRM and estimating systems, ensuring high-quality data across enquiries, quotations and customer records
9. Provide performance insights and operational updates to senior management

10. Strong leadership, communication and team development skills
11. Experience in estimating, tendering or quotation management
12. A solid understanding of commercial and technical considerations within a manufacturing or construction-related environment
13. Excellent organisational and analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
14. Confidence using CRM or estimating systems and implementing consistent processes
15. A relevant technical or commercial qualification (desirable)
