The Role:
This role is part of our Saab Seaeye Business Unit. You will gain in-depth knowledge of our product range and have the opportunity to manufacture ROV assemblies from component level to final testing and sign-off. You will also understand real-world performance and perform fault-finding and root cause analysis on returned products requiring servicing or refurbishment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manufacture and repair of electro-mechanical assemblies.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics for building and fault finding.
* Ensure soldering and electrical loom wiring are of high standards.
* Assist with pressure and soak testing of Saab Seaeye components as required.
* Maintain proficiency in relevant IT systems to perform your role effectively.
* Work on complex medium to large electro-mechanical and hydraulic assemblies at a component level.
* Apply 6S principles and lean working initiatives.
* Maintain professional relationships with team members and other departments to meet objectives and deadlines.
* Act ethically and with integrity, prioritising the company's best interests.
* Manage time effectively to minimize waste and maximize productivity.
* Use personal judgment and initiative to develop solutions to challenges.
* Perform any additional duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.
Required Skills:
* Ability to interpret electro-mechanical and hydraulic schematics.
* Knowledge and experience in mechanical engineering practices.
* Understanding of electronic manufacturing practices, such as IPC standards.
* Ability to use fault-finding methods to diagnose electrical and electronic faults to PCB level; component-level diagnostics are advantageous.
* Formal qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering (NVQ level 3 or equivalent).
* Experience using electronic testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, megger, multimeters.
