Description
As a Graduate Operations Manager, you will be responsible for learning how to lead the operational and financial performance of the contract, delivering work safely, on time, and meeting key customer expectations. You will be an integral part of the contract's succession plan, gaining experience from existing Operations Managers across different functions with the aspiration to lead in the future.
Key Responsibilities
You will learn to lead specific tasks alongside current Operations Managers, including:
* Maintaining contract compliance with the dig crews, including chairing daily compliance meetings regarding redlines and offsite forms.
* Re-implementing the team dashboard to monitor compliance metrics such as productivity, GCat compliance, and speeding.
* Managing the BW Contract fleet, plant, and logistics, ensuring proper allocation and regular audits.
* Leading depot operations, maintaining H&S compliance, inductions, and delivery procedures.
* Supporting the Logistics Manager in ensuring stock levels, including emergency OOH stock, are maintained.
* Setting up a dedicated training and induction facility within the yard.
* Becoming an expert in company and contract induction processes.
* Managing daily jeopardy exercises to optimize dig crew efficiency by tracking completed, reallocatable, and at-risk work.
Reinstatement Focus
* Understanding different types of reinstatement and planning works for backfill, reinstatement, and site clearance.
* Gaining a basic understanding of street works legislation, including NRSWA, Section 74 compliance, defects, and permit challenges.
* Developing an interest in the engineering aspects of highway reinstatement with the goal of mentoring others in related departments.
Experience and Qualifications
* Recent graduate in a relevant field.
* Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in IT, especially Microsoft Excel and Word.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
