The post is based in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences, Radiology Directorate, Edinburgh. The Band 6 Specialist Radiographer – 36 hours is a permanent position in neuroradiology. In addition, the role requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If not currently held for the required regulatory group (child and/or adult), an application to Disclosure Scotland will be required before starting in post.
Responsibilities
* Provide neuroradiology services and support the expansion of neuroradiology services on the East of Scotland site.
* Operate state-of-the-art cross-sectional scanners in the adult neurosciences setting with some cross-working alongside the paediatric team.
* Contribute to innovative neuro imaging including Intra Operative MRI, Laser RF ablation MRI, fMRI, GA/sedation MRI and pacemaker MRI scanning.
* Support a radiographer-led CT guided nerve root injection service.
* Work in a purpose-built facility on the BioQuarter site in Edinburgh, adjacent to the Royal Infirmary, co-joined with the paediatric radiology department.
* Participate in on-call rota and provide cover for evening and weekend shifts.
* Collaborate with colleagues to develop skills in all aspects of neuroradiography.
Qualifications and Experience
* Relevant postgraduate radiography experience.
* Experience in CT/MRI or angiography is advantageous.
* Ability to work with state-of-the-art imaging equipment including Siemens Axiom Artis Zee (Bi-Plane), Canon Aquillion One Genesis CT scanner, and Philips Ingenia 1.5T & 3T MRI scanners.
