Responsibilities
* Oversee plant assets and make quick‑thinking choices to keep the plant running with minimal or no breakdowns.
* Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure efficient running of equipment and deliver the required quality and quantity.
* Monitor machine performance and record efficiencies related to quality, delivery, and cost.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and reliability, proposing new and improved ways of working.
* Troubleshoot faults, conduct fault finding and support maintenance activities.
* Assist in safety and hygiene compliance and maintain accurate records.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Qualified engineer with electrical and mechanical skills.
* NVQ 3 / BTEC 3 in a related engineering discipline – mandatory.
* Time‑served apprenticeship – essential.
* HNC or equivalent – desirable.
* Knowledge of SCADA or similar systems and some PLC knowledge.
* Prior experience in fault finding.
* Experience steering continuous improvement activity in a similar role.
* Ability to work under pressure and at speed.
* Strong organisation and prioritisation skills.
* IOSH/NEBOSH certificate – desirable.
* Excellent communication and collaborative skills to inspire teams.
Shift Pattern
Day and night shifts, with every other weekend off.
