Management Accountant Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead end-to-end finance operations, including transactional processes, month-end close, and preparation of Accounts Packs for monthly Board meetings.
* Oversee statutory reporting, compliance, risk, and audit requirements across the business.
* Manage the Finance Team, consisting of one Purchase Ledger Clerk, one Credit Controller, and one Assistant Accountant.
* Assist in producing annual budgets and weekly profitability and cash flow forecasts.
* Implement and maintain monthly balance sheet reviews, including reconciliation completion.
* Own the integration process between the proposed new DMS and Financial accounts system and assist with the implementation of improved, real-time financial reporting methods to support business decision-making.
* Collaborate with the wider management team to increase profitability and ensure control of working capital.
* Participate in the management team, providing data and business information as needed for decision-making.
Candidate Requirements:
* ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification, or qualified by experience.
* Experience working with large quantities of data.
* Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements.
* Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting software.
* Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
* Experience in managing people, including remote workers.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Preferred Experience:
* Experience using an accounting system separate from the DMS.
* Experience implementing new IT and/or accounting systems.
* Experience with PowerBI or similar reporting tools.
