We pride ourselves on reliability, customer service and continuous improvement.Due to continued growth, we have created an exciting new opportunity for a Transport Planning Manager to join and strengthen our senior management team.Role OverviewReporting to the General Manager and working closely with the Customer Services Manager and Fleet Manager, the Transport Planning Manager will lead our transport planning operations across multiple sites.Based at our Dromore office you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the transport planning teams, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction while maximising vehicle utilisation, efficiency and service performance.This is a senior, hands-on role offering the opportunity to drive operational excellence and contribute directly to the strategic development of the business.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team ManagementOverall responsibility for all transport planning functionsLead and manage planning teams across four traffic areas and two locationsDrive a positive, high-performance culture within the planning teamsPlanning & OperationsMonitor vehicle utilisation and prepare revenue reportsEnsure shipping routes are planned efficiently to maximise utilisation and reduce costsMonitor live vehicle movements to minimise delays and inefficienciesEnsure accurate and real-time use of the Traffic Management System (TMS)Ensure all job data is completed correctly to support KPI reportingCustomer & Stakeholder ManagementWork closely with Customer Services to manage customer queries and service updatesBuild and maintain strong working relationships with customersEnsure effective communication with sales and warehousing teams regarding delivery schedulesSupport Commercial and Fleet teams with capacity planning and forecastingPerformance & ComplianceEnsure all driver briefs and de-briefs are completed daily, including POD statusKeep the Fleet Manager informed of RTAs and vehicle maintenance issuesParticipate in weekly and monthly management meetings and provide performance reportsDrive change initiatives and process improvements across the logistics operationEssential CriteriaMinimum 5 years experience in road haulage or transport planning, including team managementStrong leadership and communication skills with a hands-on approachCommercially astute with a customer-focused mindsetExcellent organisational and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, pressurised environmentStrong geographic knowledge of Ireland and the UKAbility to analyse data and make informed operational decisionsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using Transport Management SystemsFull UK driving licenceWhy Join Mulgrew Haulage?Join a well-established, growing transport business with an excellent reputationSenior role with real influence on operations and strategyOpportunity for career development and progressionSupportive, professional management teamMulgrew Haulage Ltd is an Equal Opportunities Employer.WHJS1_NI
